“Best of the Best ” Championship 2011

Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur Taekwon-Do Association (Persatuan TaeKwon-Do Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, PTWPKL) has on May 28 and 29 organised “ Best Of The Best 2011” Taekwon-Do Championship at Stadium Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur. The bi-annual event marked PTWPKL’s fourth championship held so far. Mr. Ting Siew Chuan, the current president of PTWPKL, is the organising chairman of the remarkable event. A total of 451 participants from both Malaysia and Singapore, which was almost double the amount from the last championship, took part in the event. It was estimated that some 600 spectators turned out to witness the exciting championships too.
Best Of The Best 2011 received supports from various goverment agencies and association, namely Department of Youth and Sports Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur, Malaysian Health Promotion Board (MHPB), as well as the Pan-Malaysia Global Taekwon-Do Federation (PGTF). The event was officiated by the Professor Dr. Abdul Wahab Datuk Kosai - Board Committee of MHPB, Dato’ Othman Bin Talib - President of PGTF, Master Ngiaw Wee Sun –Chairman of GTF Public Relations Committee, Mr. Lim Sui Soon from Singapore Taewkondo Academy,Mr. Johnson Kong Cheif Instructor of PTWPKL and the Mr Ting Siew Chuan – President of PTWPKL cum Organising Chairman, as well as Masters from both Singapore and Malaysia.
Unlike most conventional Taekwon-Do championships that basically focus more on mere competitons, Best Of The Best 2011 collaborated with Alpha Specialist Center and Wellness Laboratories Center Sdn. Bhd in providing basic health screening facilities covering various aspects such as blood pressure, BMI, and glucose levels for the contestants and attendees during the event. Such collaboration marks BOTB’s competitive advantage, differentiating itself from any other forms of Taekwon-Do championships in Malaysia.
